Charlie Heise, Associate Director, Bioprocessing Strategy & Development, FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies is speaking on From Apollo™X cell line to 20K L Bioreactor: partnering manufacturing strategies and facility design for patient-centric medicine delivery.
Manufacturing strategies for the commercial production of therapeutic recombinant proteins from mammalian cell culture fall into three categories: scale-up, scale-out and more recently continuous. Each of these approaches is suited for different supply scenarios where selection can carry significant risk if misjudged. Typically, these strategies do not align to allow agile transfer between each of these manufacturing routes without significant investment and delay. Our KojoX™ uniform operating philosophy with its modular approach supports the manufacturing needs of medicines throughout their life cycle. Its methodologies de-risk the supply of medicines to patients from pre-clinical to commercial supply by standardizing process design, validation and operation. This presentation will address the importance of selecting the most suitable manufacturing strategy with a KojoX approach to ensure success from cell line development using our proprietary Apollo™X technology to commercial production at 20K L scale.
