The IT Site Leader will be the senior IT leader for FDBU and oversee the people management of the entire IT department on site. The leader will lead the infrastructure, applications and help desk teams. He/She will also drive the directional strategy to deliver highly scalable, secure and reliable systems, platforms, networks and infrastructure. In addition will implement governance processes, IT client communication plans, IT validation and standards for the site.  Will sit on the global IT leadership team to drive commonality of application platforms and security across sites.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, manage and mentor staff and overall operations to ensure the stable operation of the organization’s IT infrastructure, applications and help desk
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key internal customers at all levels to understand their business drivers and work with internal customers to understand requirements and deliver/promote technical solutions as appropriate
  • Develop, manage and track the IT departmental expense budget and capital projects
  • Lead the staff, inclusive of review of performance deliverables and manage expectations, conduct performance reviews and coach ongoing career development for the team members
  • Develop a clear 2-3 strategy for IT infrastructure, Applications and Help Desk at Site in line with the global strategy
  • Identify site IT improvement potential projects and ensure alignment with other internal departments as well as alignment globally with other FDB locations, and leverage resources
  • Development of operating procedures and IT processes
  • Ensure clear project management of all IT related projects
  • Clear communication with all business stakeholders on progress on projects, infrastructure and project budgets
  • Implement governance processes, IT client communication plans, IT validation and standards for the site
  • Demonstrate Supervisory skills with Outside Contractors and Consultants
  • Apply GMP/Safety, SOPs, discipline practices, terminology to ensure successful IT Audits
  • Develops relevant metrics, measures and publishes the performance of the services provided and enables continuous improvement activities in collaboration with peer groups
  • Ensure applications adheres to policies and procedures that are compliant with industry and regulatory policies
  • Keeps abreast of new developments and forecasts future trends in the area of application integration in the healthcare industry
  • Maintains a strong understanding of technology and its application to achieve business objectives
  • Prepares analysis and or proposals when necessary

 

 

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Good hi-level knowledge of the life cycle in a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) – ie, Analytical Development, QA, QC, Manufacturing, Supply Chain
  • Bachelors degree or greater, ideally in an IT or scientific focus area
  • 12+ years of IT experience including 5 years of managerial experience in an agile environment and at least 5-7 years of experience in project/program management to deliver either business or IT projects
  • Proven experience in managing and mentoring teams
  • Knowledge in manufacturing and automation networks – prior experience in building a 2-3 strategic plan in this area a big plus
  • Knowledge in Labware LIMs, SAP Hanna a big plus
  • Understanding and ability of how to manage and support 24/7 coverage to support manufacturing and laboratories
  • Proven experience in managing, structuring budgets – communicating to gain approval
  • Proven experience in understanding of goals and the interdependencies of functional departments and groups and the ability to lead large-scale complex projects in addressing overall business needs
  • Excellent written, oral, instructional, presentation, and interpersonal skills focused on motivation and positive attitude
  • Highly self-motivated, directed, and change oriented
  • Ability to handle confrontation with appropriate grace, professionalism, cordiality, and firmness, and manage/resolve disputes appropriately
  • Ability to communicate concepts in elegant, concise, eloquent form to management and to cross-functional departments or teams verbally, in writing, and through pictures or diagrams when appropriate

FDBU works with technical data, technology and materials that are subject to U.S. export laws and regulations. This position will require access to technical data, technology and source code that is controlled under U.S. export laws and regulations, including but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations at 22 C.F.R. Parts 120 – 130 and Export Administration Regulations in 15 C.F.R. Part 730 – 774, as may be amended.
