About the department

QC Hillerød consists of approximately 90 employees divided into several teams including five testing teams; QC Microbiology, QC Chromatography, QC raw materials, QC Chemistry and QC Bioassay & Virology. We work in a busy and dynamic environment where we support the biologics DS production as well as the release of commercial products (DS/DP) for our clients. QC is looking for a manager for the QC Bioassay & Virology team.

You will, as manager for QC Bioassay & Virology, work closely with the other testing managers in HIL, and also work closely with analytical technology and with the support teams.

About the Job

You will manage the QC Bioassay & Virology team consisting of 14 dedicated employees. The primary daily deliveries in the team is release, in-process and stability testing of our commercial products (DS/DP) using various cell-based and ELISA assays in determination of the potency and efficacy of the products, as well as ensuring viral safety on products with Adventitious Virus and MMV testing. QC is often inspected by authorities and therefore part of the daily business is assuring the right level of GMP in the department.

In your daily activity you will have to show great diversity, flexibility and be able to be on top of many different activities showing the direction and prioritization for the team.

You and the team will follow ambitious goals (KPIs) which you will follow on close basis through board meetings. Your focus will be on delivering on the goals in a safe and healthy working environment, and at the same time assuring that you have an engaged and motivated team with focus on personal and team development.

You will be part of our testing manager team where you will collaborate closely with your senior manager, but also closely with the other managers and our director in QC, where we strive for a high performance department that reaches its KPIs.

Your qualifications

You have an academic background (Master degree as a minimum) preferably with analytical focus – primarily within biochemistry. You have strong managerial skills with 5+ years of experience within management. You have previous experience in working within a GMP environment, and have a strong mind-set for quality and compliance.

As a person, you can stay focused in a busy working day and you always approach tasks and colleagues with a positive attitude, energy, humor and provide professional support and guidance to your employees. You have an analytical mindset, work in a structural way and are used to deliver according to deadlines. At a personal level you are a good communicator, also in English, who understands the importance of involving employees and stakeholder. You possess a positive mindset and are not afraid of making difficult decisions.
